17 of March all over the world Irish and non Irish people are celebrating St Patricks Day. With song, music, all sorts of festivities. There are masses in churches. People dresses up in green, white and a little bit of gold. The colours of Ireland. People wears shamrocks and small leprechauns pinned on their jackets and blouses.
ST PATRICKS DAG

17 mars firar alla Irländska och icke Irländska Sankt Patricks Dag. Med sång, musik, alla sorter av fester. Det är mässor i kyrkorna. Människor klär sig i grönt, vitt och lite guld. Irlands färger. Människor bär treklöver och små leprikon (irländska småtomtar) på jack-och blusuppslag.
I do the same! I love St Patricks Day. The warmth and the joy among the Irish people who celebrate are vibrant ! I would not miss St Patricks Day for anything else.
Jag gör precis likadant! Jag älskar St Patricks Dag. Värmen och glädjen bland alla Irländska människor som firar är underbar. Jag skulle inte vilja byta St Patricks Dagen mot något annat.
Here in Fuengirola we celebrate St Patricks Day in the little chapel St Joseph in the middle of the town, in Las Rampas. It begin with a mass. After the mass it is a big buffet and at the same time there are performances of different kind. Jim Sharkey reads some poems and columns. Bernadette Sherry from Dublin gives her beautiful rendition of Danny Boys, I sing Fields of Athenry and we both sing some other songs to. Jim leads the singalong with all his heart! Jack holds it all together, and we do ave an absolutely wonderful time. This has become a tradition which goes many years back. And I feel honoured to be a part of it!
In the night everyone goes to an Irish pub were they sing, dance and drink Irish bear, and many have green hats and sometimes also green wigs on. An Irish man once come up to me and gave me a wonderful Irish brooch, he thought I had the most beautiful Irish eyes he had ever seen. I did have the heart to tell him that I was Swedish.

Här I Fuengirola firar vi St Patricks Dagen I det lilla St Joseph kapellet som ligger mitt i staden, i Las Rampas. Det börjar med en gudstjänst. Efter gudstjänsten bjuds det på stort smörgåsbord och samtidigt är det olika uppträdanden av olika slag. Jim Sharkey läser dikter och kåserier.
